Tire Pressure Monitoring System
- Both of Liberty's Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems regularly check inflation levels for optimal safety, security, performance and fuel economy. If the levels are off, a warning light will illuminate on the instrument panel.
- According to fueleconomy.gov, you can improve your gas mileage by around 3.3% by keeping your tires inflated to the proper pressure. Proper inflation also benefits the life of your tires.
Advanced Multistage Air Bags
- Safety and security come first. All Jeep Liberty models feature standard advanced multistage driver and front passenger air bags* and side-curtain air bags with roll-sensing technology for additional side impact protection.
- *Always use seat belts. Children 12 and under should always be in a back seat correctly using an infant or child restraint system, or the seat belt properly positioned, dependent on the child's age and weight.
NHTSA FIVE STAR SAFETY RATING
- Jeep Liberty has received the U.S. Government's highest crash test rating for frontal and side-impact protection.
- Star ratings are part of the U.S. Government's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA's) New Car Assessment Program (www.safecar.gov). Based on NHTSA scoring system for 2009 model year Jeep Liberty.
Sentry Key®
- Sentry Key® is a highly effective vehicle theft deterrent system, making it virtually impossible to drive the vehicle without a valid key, because the engine will start with only a properly encoded key.
- A small transmitter chip embedded in the key, or integrated key fob, provides a digital signal to the vehicle's engine computer which determines if the key is valid for this vehicle. If the key is not valid, the engine will only run for approximately two seconds and then shut down.
