SAFETY

ALL-SPEED TRACTION CONTROL

  • All-speed traction control monitors wheel speed and vehicle speed for drive-wheel slip, helping reduce wheel slip as the vehicle is accelerating.
  • The system senses drive wheel slip and individually applies brakes to the slipping wheel and/or reduces excess engine power until control is regained, augmenting the traction management capability of the four-wheel-drive system.

ANTI-LOCK BRAKES

  • Helps prevent wheel lockup when braking on wet or slippery surfaces, and is fully functional in both two- and four-wheel-drive modes, improving vehicle stability and control, helping the driver to manoeuvre out of harm's way, and providing improved braking for added peace of mind when driving in inclement weather.
  • Off-road calibration provides more sustained wheel lockup over rough or loose surfaces, improving off-road stopping performance and steering control.

BRAKE ASSIST

  • Brake Assist applies maximum braking power in emergency situations, providing the shortest possible stopping distance.

ELECTRONIC ROLL MITIGATION

  • Electronic Roll Mitigation (ERM) anticipates the potential for wheel lift by monitoring the driver's steering wheel input and the speed of the vehicle, helping reduce the likelihood that the vehicle will roll.
  • ERM will only intervene during very severe or evasive driving manoeuvres.
  • No system, no matter how sophisticated, can repeal the laws of physics or overcome careless driving actions. Performance is limited by available traction, which snow, ice and other conditions can affect. When the ESP warning lamp in the instrument cluster flashes, the driver needs to use less throttle and adapt speed and driving behaviour to prevailing road conditions. Always drive carefully, consistent with conditions. Please always wear your seat belt.

ADVANCED MULTISTAGE AIR BAGS

  • Provide nearly instantaneous occupant protection by matching air bag output to crash severity, protecting the driver and front passenger during a frontal or near-frontal collision.
  • Always use seat belts. Children 12 and under should always be in a back seat correctly using an infant or child restraint system, or the seat belt properly positioned, dependent on the child's age and weight.

SIDE AIR BAGS

  • Deploy from the seat independently to provide head and thorax protection in the event of a side impact, helping protect the driver and front passenger.
  • Always use seat belts. Children 12 and under should always be in a back seat correctly using an infant or child restraint system, or the seat belt properly positioned, dependent on the child's age and weight.

SIDE GUARD DOOR BEAMS

  • High-strength welded beams provide increased rigidity, as well as occupant protection during a side impact.

NHTSA FIVE STAR SAFETY RATING

  • Jeep Wrangler has received the U.S. Government’s highest crash test rating for frontal impact protection.

REAR WIPER/WASHER

  • Help clear moisture from the rear window on hardtops, helping improve rearward visibility in inclement weather.

SENTRY KEY®

  • Sentry Key® immobilizes the engine if the correct key is not used to start the engine, helping to protect the vehicle against theft.

SHOULDER BELTS

  • Provide a first line of defense during a collision, making it easier to position belts properly and providing more wearing comfort.
  • Travelling buckles move with the seat position to maintain consistent passenger comfort and protection.
