2021 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE SRT: PURE POWER

2021-03-03
They say there’s no replacement for displacement, and Jeep agrees. The Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT has become the definition of the modern American muscle car, or truck in this case. Jeep did not have to do much to the already impressive and imposing Jeep Grand Cherokee when it first launched the SRT but what was done was sufficient to create an icon.

HEMI Performance

The inimitable 6.4-litre V-8 engine, also known as the 392, is one of the most revered modern V-8 engines available today. It produces an astounding 475 horsepower at 6,000 rpm (only 400 rpm short of the redline) and 470 lb.-ft. of torque. This kind of power sends the Grand Cherokee SRT to 60 mph (97 km/h) in only 4.3 seconds but that’s only half of the story.
While the speed is seductive, the V-8 burble at idle and ensuing melody once the power is released is nothing short of addictive. In fact, one may find themselves using the steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters to hold a certain gear for a few extra moments…

Putting the Power to the Ground

With great power comes great responsibility. This is why the Grand Cherokee SRT is fitted with the Quadra-Trac SRT active on-demand 4x4 system. This advanced full-time 4x4 system can vary torque split as required, from a 50/50 differentiation for snow traction to a 30/70 split when in track mode.
Included is a sophisticated Bilstein adaptive damping suspension (ADS) that is designed to provide as much comfort as required, as well extra control to keep the Grand Cherokee poised when exploiting this Jeep’s full potential.

Powerful Styling

One of the most remarkable elements about the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT is that it is immediately recognizable as being an SRT. Jeep designers imbued the SRT with styling cues that unmistakably set it apart such as the unique highly aggressive front and rear fascias, 20‑inch satin carbon split-spoke wheels, and other aerodynamic add-ons.
Despite the exterior’s menacing looks, the cabin is extremely luxurious and opulent. It is fitted with supple Nappa leather seats with perforated suede inserts and Uconnect 4C multimedia centre with navigation and an 8.4-inch touchscreen. Furthermore, five adults can comfortably sit on board and there’s plenty of room for gear in the capacious trunk.
