2021 JEEP WRANGLER ROOF OPTIONS

2021-03-24
The roof is one of the most distinctive elements of the Jeep Wrangler. It provides owners with a host of options for open-air driving, something rarely offered by a sport utility vehicle. When configuring their new Wrangler, buyers have multiple options that offer their own advantages and drawbacks. Here’s an overview of the roof options available on the 2021 Jeep Wrangler.

Sunrider Soft Top

The 2021 Jeep Wrangler comes standard with a Black Sunrider soft top on all models (excluding the Sahara Unlimited, which comes standard with the Black Freedom Top 3-piece hard top).
The main advantage of the Sunrider soft top is that it is easy to use. Owners can remove the entire roof covering the front and back of the Wrangler without any tools and quickly. Removing the roof over the driver’s seat takes seconds and putting it back in place is just as simple and fast. Because it comes standard, it’s also the most affordable way to enjoy the open air in a Wrangler.
However, there are some drawbacks. The Sunrider soft top is noisier than a hard top and when it is pulled all the way back, it can be difficult to access the cargo area.

Three-Piece Hard Top

The three-piece hard top is standard on the Unlimited Sport Altitude, Unlimited Sahara, and Unlimited Sahara Altitude models. On the latter it is painted the same colour as the body while on the other two it is black.
The hard top option provides better protection from the elements when in place and also comes with a rear window wiper/washer and defrost system. It also makes for a quieter cabin and removing the panels over the driver and passenger seats only takes a few minutes. Think of the three-piece hard top as a traditional roof with all of the advantages such a roof provides, but with the ability to be removed when the weather permits.
The three-piece hard top can also be completely removed.

SKY One-Touch Power Top

If you don’t want to have to worry about removing the top yourself or you’re worried about being caught in a sudden downpour, the Sky One-Touch Power Top is for you. The option gives you the ability to remove the top over the front or the rear passenger compartment at the touch of a button without having to remove panels. The portion of the roof that goes back is very large, meaning that you get a more open feel than even the removable hard top can provide. It’s the closest thing to a convertible Wrangler one can find. (only available on Unlimited (4-door) models).
