GRAND WAGONEER DEBUT SIGNALS RETURN OF LEGENDARY NAMEPLATE

Wagoneer. You know the name; before SUVs were anywhere near as popular as they are now, there was the Jeep Wagoneer. It had all the hallmarks of a capable off-road vehicle, but instead of providing consumers with a vehicle that was a capable 4 x 4 and little else, the Wagoneer offered luxuries like an automatic transmission, a first for a four-wheel-drive vehicle. About two decades later the Grand Wagoneer arrived with further niceties such as FM radio, leather seating and air conditioning.
Today, Grand Wagoneer is back – just not as you may have imagined it.

The aim is to bring Grand Wagoneer into a premium space currently occupied by the likes of Cadillac and Lincoln, as well as higher-spec models of the likes of the Ford Expedition and Chevrolet Tahoe – and it starts with this, the Grand Wagoneer Concept.
It will be available with three rows of seating, just as the Expedition is and similar to what Chevrolet does with the Tahoe and Suburban. The last time a three-row Jeep was available, meanwhile, was the Commander back in 2010.
Inside, the Grand Wagoneer will feature the latest in Uconnect infotainment, which is now in its fifth generation and is five-times faster than the outgoing Uconnect 4 interface. The Uconnect interface is one of the most comprehensive available on the market thanks to its intuitive menus, its large display and the features it provides including apps such as the Off-road pages to provide an unprecedented set of off-roading data, from angle of attack, to wheel articulation and locking axles.
