GRAND WAGONEER TO HELP USHER IN WAGONEER BRAND

2021-03-24
When we first saw the Grand Wagoneer nameplate, it was attached to an upgraded version of the Wagoneer and packed with features like air-conditioning, FM radio and leather seating. And who can forget the exterior wood paneling?
That was back in 1991 and now, three decades later, the Grand Wagoneer is slated to return. More than just the return of a single model, however, the Grand Wagoneer will be one of the first products in a suite of products flying under the “Wagoneer” brand, here to enter a premium space that extends well beyond the current line-up.

The Grand Wagoneer, meanwhile, is a great starting point. Find out more on Wagoneer.ca
While there are certain Jeep® cues such as a seven-slot grille (accented here with LED lighting) and squared fenders, the Grand Wagoneer takes styling to another level with Obsidian Black accents, signature LED projector headlamps and taillamps as well as fog lamps and copper-accents on the side that spell out “Grand Wagoneer”. The wheels measure 24-inches and include 3D-printed elements. Speaking of Wagoneer: while certain aspects of the Grand Wagoneer look like something you’d see on a Jeep, that name doesn’t appear anywhere on the vehicle as this is part of the Wagoneer line-up, not the Jeep line-up.
Inside, up to seven passengers – a first for the Grand Wagoneer – will be coddled by ambient lighting, huge glass windows and full-length moonroof, heat-treated lacewood inserts, as well as recyclable PUR synthetic leather seating and synthetic suede headliner.
Comfort is one thing, but if you’re going to compete in the luxury space these days, you need the latest in interior tech as well.
To that end, the Grand Wagoneer features a total of 45 inches of total display span up front, including a 12.3” gauge cluster, 12.1” infotainment screen, a 10.25” display below that for your climate controls and an available 10.25” display in front of the passenger.
Second-row passengers haven’t been forgotten either; each one gets an available 10.1” display in front of them, as well as an available third 10.1” central display mounted to the rear of the centre console. The Grand Wagoneer will also get the latest Uconnect® infotainment tech, which is five-times faster than the previous version. Audiophiles, meanwhile, will be pleased with the available 23-speaker McIntosh audio system with its custom speakers and 24-channel amplifier.
The Wagoneer brand is going to need a flagship, and with the Grand Wagoneer, it’ll be able to fly its flag high indeed.
