Step-by-step Roof Removal on the 2021 Jeep Gladiator

The first step is to remove the two front roof panels. This operation is straightforward since the panels are held in place by levers that need to be turned and disengaged from the inside. The panels are light enough that one person can easily remove them.
Next, you have to move to the back to undo the bolts located just behind the rear seats on the outside frame of the vehicle (where the roof meets the body). There are six in all, two on the sides and four behind the seats, under the window that separates the cab from the bed. To gain access to these bolts, you must remove a panel that is held in place with Velcro.
At this stage, it is crucial to put the bolts in a safe place. Under the rear seat, Jeep has placed a small panel that includes openings to place the bolts and nuts that are removed so that nothing is lost.
Next, we move to the front of the rear part of the roof outside. There you will find two more bolts that need to be removed. These are located at the junction of the front and rear doors.

At this point, the roof can practically be removed. The last step is to disconnect the electrical wires that are behind a plastic hatch inside.
Finally, all you have to do is move the roof. For this operation, you will need a friend to help. You don't want to risk damaging the roof or the paint by trying to do the job alone.
