QUADRA-LIFT AIR SUSPENSION EXPLAINED

2021-04-12
A vehicle’s ride height plays a very important role in determining fuel efficiency on the highway and capability off the beaten path. The ability to modify that ride height depending on the situation is therefore a considerable advantage. That’s what the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee offers with its Quadra-Lift Air Suspension system.

The Quadra-Lift Air Suspension system uses air springs at each wheel instead of traditional coil springs, thus giving the springs the ability to raise and lower at the touch of a button or automatically. The suspension has more than 4.0 inches of travel and is adjusted through two buttons located near the drive mode selector.

Better Ground clearance and Improved Efficiency

There are multiple benefits to having control over a vehicle’s ride height. The first is extra ground clearance. By raising the vehicle, users get additional maneuverability over difficult terrain. Increasing ground clearance is also useful if you are stuck in deep snow.
The Quadra-Lift Air Suspension can also lower the overall height of the vehicle in order to create a more aerodynamic profile which will improve fuel economy. The lower the vehicle is, the less wind resistance it creates and the more efficient it becomes.
The driver maintains control over the height of the suspension, but the vehicle may lower or heighten itself depending on the drive mode you select. This happens seamlessly and the driver won’t feel the change in height. If you are stopped, you will notice the front dip slightly, but the overall movement is very smooth.
When parked, the Quadra-Lift system is also useful, giving owners the ability to lower the vehicle for easier entry and exit. The system also lowers the cargo floor in order to facilitate cargo loading and unloading.
The Quadra-Lift Air Suspension technology comes standard on many 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee trims including the rugged Trailhawk as well as the Overland, High Altitude, and Summit models. It is one more example of Jeep technology that improves the experience regardless of where you are driving.
