The Jeep® Wrangler has been one of the defining models in the long history of the automobile. With 80 years of development in off-road capability and a current generation that is more usable and comfortable than ever, the 2021 Jeep Wrangler preserves its legendary status as one of the most unique vehicles you can buy today.
There isn’t a situation where the 2021 Jeep Wrangler won’t shine. On the way to the beach in summer with the wind in your hair thanks to the removable roof or available Sky One-touch powertop, or heading up a snow-covered hill in the heart of winter, the Wrangler soaks up the adventure ahead. It can handle any road while also offering a range of comfort, safety, and connectivity features.

New Powertrain Options for the 2021 Jeep® Wrangler

The 2021 Jeep® Wrangler features a range of engine and transmission options starting with a 3.6-litre V-6 engine with 285 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque that can be paired with either an eight-speed automatic gearbox or a standard six-speed manual gearbox. The Wrangler is indeed one of the few SUVs to still offer a manual, making it a purist’s dream.
Next in the Wrangler engine options list is a 2.0-litre, turbocharged engine with 270 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine pairs only with the automatic gearbox and provides ample low-end torque which translates into confident passing and accelerations. Introduced in 2020, the 3.0-litre EcoDiesel V-6 packs 260 horsepower and an exceptional 442 pound-feet of torque (the most torque ever on a Wrangler).

Off-Road Capability Defined

The Wrangler seeks the off-road path naturally and although the Rubicon trim is the king of the hill, every 2021 Wrangler features remarkable prowess in difficult conditions. The Sport and Sahara Wrangler models come with a Command-TracTM 4x4 system with a 2.72:1 low-range gear ratio that pairs with Dana® front and rear axles. Moreover, an available Tru-Lok limited slip rear differential ensures optimal torque distribution between each rear wheel for superior grip.
A Selec-Trac two-speed transfer case combined with full-time four-wheel drive and the same low-range gear ratio is also available. The two-speed transfer case here operates in full-time mode, managing power delivery between the front and the back automatically, allowing the driver to focus on the road ahead with optimal grip.
Upgrade to the 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and you are greeted with heavy-duty Dana® 44 front and rear axles and the rugged Rock-Trac® 4x4 with a 4:1 4LO gear ratio. The Wrangler Rubicon also features electric front and rear locking differentials, a front sway bar that can be disconnected, and beefy BF Goodrich KM All-Terrain tires. These elements combined together make the Wrangler Rubicon nearly invincible off the grid and certainly allow it to go where others cannot follow.

The 2021 Jeep Wrangler also features a new available forward-facing camera for optimized off-road driving called TrailCam. With TrailCam, you can see obstacles below the vehicle that you couldn’t see from the cockpit. The 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon features the Off-Road Plus mode that optimizes how the throttle reacts, the transmission shifts, and the traction control intervenes.
With the 2021 Jeep Wrangler, the world is your backyard and your next adventure is a push of the start button away.
