JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE QUADRA‑TRAC AND QUADRA‑DRIVE II SYSTEMS

The 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee comes in multiple versions with a range of features in each model. The soul of the Grand Cherokee, however, is its 4x4 systems. There are four of them and each is perfectly suited to the model that features it.
From improved off-road capability in the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk to performance-oriented 4x4 capability in the Grand Cherokee SRT and Trackhawk, Jeep’s Quadra-Trac and Quadra-Drive II systems deliver the grip and stability expected of a Grand Cherokee.

Quadra-Trac I 4x4

The Quadra-Trac I 4x4 system is standard on the Laredo and Altitude trims is an automatic four-wheel drive system that senses and reacts to changing road conditions. The system is constantly active, monitoring road conditions and transferring the engine’s torque from the front to the rear. Up to 48% of the available torque can be sent to the front wheels with 52% going to the rear wheels. This ensures the highest level of stability and grip in any and every situation.

Quadra-Trac II 4x4

This system is standard on the vast majority of Grand Cherokee trims including Limited, Overland, Summit and Limited X, and is offered as an option on the Laredo. The system adds a 2-speed low transfer case that can send up to 100% of the available engine torque to front or rear axle. Paired with the Selec-Terrain system, the Quadra-Trac II 4x4 system can be optimized to provide optimal grip in a range of situations or set to Auto to deliver the best performance in changing situations.

Quadra-Trac SRT 4x4

The Quadra-Trac SRT 4x4 system is designed for performance, and to handle the exceptional power of the V-8 HEMI engines of the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT and Trackhawk versions. The system features a massive “wet” clutch and a rear electronic limited slip differential that can send up to 100% of the torque to a single wheel.
Also paired with Selec-Terrain, the Quadra-Trac SRT system features a Track mode to properly distribute power in a fast-paced situation.

Quadra-Drive II 4x4

A rear electronic limited slip differential is standard here as well. The Quadra-Drive II 4x4 is the most rugged four-wheel drive system in the 2021 Grand Cherokee lineup. It features a 2.72:1 low-range gear ratio and comes standard on the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk. It is also available as an option on Limited, Overland and Summit models.
The 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee may be the most comfortable and spacious Jeep model, it still can handle difficult road conditions with the best of Jeeps.
