THE UCONNECT 4 MULTIMEDIA CENTRE EXPLAINED

The Uconnect 4 Multimedia Centre debuted on the 2018 model year vehicles of the FCA family. The Uconnect 4 Multimedia Centre was an evolution of the previous system and offered even more features. It's still on the majority of the FCA family models but will slowly make way for the next generation of the system, Uconnect 5.

Mission

To put it simply, Uconnect is the system found in the center console of FCA’s models. Uconnect 4 combines the audio system with a host of applications and services that can be accessed by the driver or front-passenger via a display screen and in-car controls. Typically, Uconnect is used for navigation, entertainment and communication.
Most importantly, the system is recognized as one of the most user-friendly systems in the industry. It is simple, fun and intuitive to use.

Capabilities

What can be done with the Uconnect 4 system? The possibilities are endless. First of all, when starting your vehicle, you can connect your phone to Uconnect to play the music lists stored on it. You can also connect your favourite application, either Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, depending on the type of phone you are using. In the process, you can access the services offered by one or the other, such as Siri on one side or Google Maps on the other.
4G wireless Internet access is also available with the Uconnect 4C NAV Multimedia Centre, as is SiriusXM Guardian, which allows you to lock or unlock your vehicle remotely, start it, or even find it in a parking lot after a social outing. Maintenance and roadside assistance reports are also available, as is the connection of the SOS/Assistance button on the rear-view mirror to emergency services in the event of an accident.
With Uconnect 4C NAV, navigation is also included. It offers 3D imaging of landmarks, cities and terrain. Presented on an 8.4-inch touch screen, it offers clear graphics and guidance.

Easy Access

Access to the system's features is child's play. It can be done via the touch screen functions, but also via traditional buttons found on the console or the steering wheel. It is also possible to interact with Uconnect 4 via voice recognition, which is very useful when driving and keeping your eyes on the road and hands on the wheel.
The Uconnect 4 multimedia system is one of the most comprehensive and interesting in the industry. Any vehicle that offers it has added value.
