The desert. The final frontier of Jeep capability. This is where the 2021 Jeep Gladiator Mojave was born and the environment it was designed to conquer. First Jeep model to receive the new Desert Rated badge, the Gladiator Mojave features exclusive technologies that evolve Jeep’s legendary 4x4 capability to tackle with confidence the unique challenges posed by the desert.
Introduced this year, the new Mojave trim joins an expanded 2021 Gladiator lineup that also includes new Willys and 80th Anniversary Edition trims.

High-Speed Capability on the Toughest Terrains

The Jeep Gladiator Mojave is built to not only cross the desert ahead but cross it quickly. The suspension has been tuned to allow high-speed crossings over the toughest of terrains with FOX 2.5-inch internal bypass shocks which have been specifically tuned to provide optimal performance on sand. The FOX shocks use fluid passages that can bypass the piston as the suspension operates. This translates into a more predictable reaction off-road, and higher damping forces as conditions get more difficult.
These special shocks are joined by industry-exclusive FOX front hydraulic jounce bumpers that prevent the suspension components from overly compacting and bottoming out when going over uneven terrain at higher speeds. The 2021 Jeep Gladiator Mojave’s frame has been reinforced and there are front skid plates to protect the vehicle’s underbody from unexpected rocks. The suspension has been raised by an inch up front for best-in-class ground clearance and increased jounce travel, and 33-inch Falken Wildpeak All-terrain tires are standard. The front seats are designed to keep the driver firmly in place when racing through the desert, notably by integrating upper bolsters.

These components combine together and give the 2021 Jeep Gladiator Mojave the first Desert Rated badge ever awarded by Jeep. That said, the Gladiator Mojave is as confident at low speeds off the beaten path as it is staring at the vastness of the desert. Equipped with an Off-Road Plus button that adjusts throttle, transmission shift points and traction control to optimize low-speed performance, the Gladiator Mojave is also capable of locking its rear axle at high speeds with the gearbox set at 4H.
The Gladiator’s Command-Trac 4x4 system with two-speed transfer case featuring a 2.72:1 low-range gear ratio carries over in the Mojave trim. Dana 44 front and rear axles with a standard electronic-locking rear differential are also included. The 2021 Jeep Gladiator Mojave features an impressive approach angle (44.7 degrees), breakover angle (20.9 degrees), and departure angle (25.5 degrees).

A Proven Engine that Maximizes Low-end Torque

Powering the 2021 Jeep Gladiator Mojave is a 3.6-litre Pentastar V-6 engine that delivers 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Torque has been optimized for delivery at low RPM in order to facilitate extreme off-road crossings. The Gladiator Mojave can be equipped with either a six-speed manual gearbox or an eight-speed automatic. The manual gearbox gives the Mojave a crawl ratio of 57.3:1 while the automatic comes with a 52.6:1 crawl ratio.
