THREE THINGS THAT MAKE THE JEEP GLADIATOR SO UNIQUE

2021-04-12
The Jeep Gladiator hit the scene only recently and quickly became the talk of the town. In no time flat, it garnered awards and praise from the automotive media. How could it not? It shares many of its components with the equally admired JL Wrangler onto which is fitted an even more utilitarian body. It is, in fact, a pickup only Jeep could build.
Many remember the original Jeep Gladiator from the 1960s, and most Jeep fans recall the J-Series, the Scrambler, and the Comanche. As you can see, Jeep knows pickups which explains why the new Gladiator is such an appealing and attractive truck. Let’s take a look at three things that make the 2021 Jeep Gladiator so unique.

It is a Jeep

The Jeep Gladiator is like no other pickup, or truck, for that matter. As a Jeep, it has unique features that cannot be found on any of its competitors. It is the only open-air pickup in the industry with a removable roof, but that’s not all. Its doors can be removed, and its windshield can be folded down.

Its styling is also entirely unique to the Jeep brand. Its signature grille and distinct body design give it a look that indicates that the owner enjoys working and playing hard.
As a Jeep, it’s also incredibly adept at off-roading, featuring from the onset, the Command-Trac part-time shift-on-the-fly 4x4 system, Dana axles, and plenty of ground clearance. The Gladiator is also offered in Rubicon trim meaning that the Rock-Trac heavy-duty part-time 4x4 system with 4:1 low range, among other features, makes it one of the most capable off-roaders in the segment.

Actual Truck Functionalities

The Gladiator’s bed is truly functional and versatile. The all-steel cargo area will stand the test of time and is designed with a best-in-class 4x4 payload capacity of up to 771 kilograms (1,700 pounds). The 3-position tailgate opens up to a load floor that measures 80 x 45 inches to fit all manners of work tools or an average ATV.

And if towing is an important buying consideration, the Gladiator can tow up to 3,469 kilograms, or 7,650 pounds. Clearly, no other midsize truck can match the Gladiator’s overall capabilities.

The 2021 Jeep Gladiator Mojave

Sometimes, only the ultimate in off-roading abilities will do. The new Jeep Gladiator Mojave is the first Jeep vehicle to receive the Desert Rated designation and takes Jeep capabilities to the next level with extra features. These enhancements include industry-exclusive FOX hydraulic jounce bumpers and 2.5‑inch internal bypass shocks with external reservoirs, a slightly raised front end for high-speed off-road capabilities, and some serious 33-inch all-terrain tires.

There is nothing like the Jeep Gladiator Mojave, and there’s nothing like the Jeep Gladiator in the midsize truck segment.
